I’ve been writing stories most of my life, starting with a pastiche of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (with pictures, in a dog-eared exercise book) when I was seven.
Recently I’ve finished writing a historical/fantasy m/m romance novel called Salt Magic, Skin Magic. I’ve had lots of fun researching and writing this story – from reading countless books of Victorian history, to driving around North Yorkshire in the rain checking that the terrain would allow the characters to do what I want them to do.
I’ve had lots of help writing this story from generous readers and writers all over the world who’ve given me such honest and encouraging feedback. Enormous thanks to all of you. I’ll keep you posted on my publishing journey.
I’ve set up this website so I can share some of the fascinating things I’m learning with you. There’ll be lots of history (mainly of mid-Victorian England because that’s when and where my story is set) also posts about magic, folk tales, love stories, and writing and publishing generally.
So, welcome to my site – I hope you enjoy it – and if you do I hope you’ll leave a comment or get in touch.
